The process for adding a beneficiary will depend on which type of account you need to add a beneficiary for. See the instructions below for adding to either an IRA or adding to an Investment account.
To add a beneficiary to your IRA
You can add a beneficiary to an Ellevest IRA account directly on our site! You can add a primary beneficiary by navigating to the user menu at the top right-hand side of your dashboard. Under the Accounts option, select the appropriate IRA to add the beneficiary.
If you want to add a contingent beneficiary to your Ellevest IRA as well, then you will need to fill out this form. Please note that you may also add the contingent beneficiary directly to your account by logging into the Goldman Sachs platform.
You can upload your documents to our secure document uploader by clicking here.
Please note that if you're married and live in Arizona, California, Idaho, Louisiana, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Washington, or Wisconsin, and don't set your spouse as the 100% beneficiary of your IRA, then you'll have to ask your spouse to sign part 4 on page 2 of this form.
