You made a plan and a deposit and you’re ready to get in financial control — go you! Here’s what happens next:
1. You’ll receive a confirmation email if your deposit was successful
If you didn't receive a confirmation email within 10 minutes of submitting your deposit, it wasn't successful. Please try again, or contact the Client Support team for more information.
2. Your deposit arrives
Once your deposit hits your account, you’ll see it reflected on your Ellevest investing transactions page as "Deposit from [BANK NAME]".
(We’ll hold your funds in cash for two to three business days just in case there are any issues with the deposit at your bank.)
3. Ellevest invests your deposit
We’ll invest your deposit in the personalized investment portfolio we designed for your goal! You'll see this on your Ellevest investing transactions page as "Funds bought for your [goal name]". You can learn more about that here.
Our Investments team selects the funds we use to build our portfolios, and we use the information you tell us about yourself and your goals to determine how they're allocated. You can see all the details by clicking on the Investments tab.
4. We help you reach your goal!
Ellevest will manage your portfolio over time based on your goals and timeline. We’ll keep you from drifting too far from your target allocation, adjust your risk level as you get closer to your goal, and sometimes update the funds in your portfolio as our Investments team assesses better options. If your goal is off track, we’ll recommend changes in the Goal Planner.
It’s important to keep the information in your profile up to date (like your goal details, your salary, and the balances of your outside retirement accounts). We’ll also check in to remind you once a quarter!
