What fees or taxes are associated with an IRA or brokerage/taxable investment account transfer?

To transfer your taxable investment account or IRA out of Ellevest:

Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions, the broker and custodian for your account, will not be charging a fee for transferring to another institution via ACATS. There are no taxes associated with an IRA transfer to another provider. However, transferring a brokerage account to another provider may cause capital gains in your account. If you choose to transfer your account to another provider, they are often able to transfer your account in-kind to minimize this, however you will need to discuss tax implications with your new provider as they will be able to offer further insight into what investments they can hold in their model that we are unable to speak to.
